SUPPORT / HUMAN HELP
Something not quite READY?
Start with the quick checks below. If you’re still stuck, send a note directly to NDB Software.
Quick checks
Which browser should I use?
Use a recent Safari, Chrome, Edge, or Firefox release with JavaScript enabled. Desktop Chromium and Safari/WebKit device profiles are part of project testing; that does not cover every device or browser version. If something fails, try another updated browser and include both results in your report.
Why can’t I hear anything?
Sound starts off. Select Sound off to enable it, use Authentic speed, then check device volume and browser sound permissions. Turbo and Fast suppress audio. The running program must actually produce audio. A silent BASIC prompt is normal.
Why won’t the computer accept my typing?
Make sure power is on and the computer is not paused. Close any open dialog, then click the screen to focus it. On touch devices, use the built-in keyboard. Use Release all keys if a key appears stuck.
How do I stop a looping program?
Press the built-in BREAK key or Escape on your physical keyboard. Pause freezes execution temporarily; Resume continues it. Save your work before using Reset or power controls.
Where did my saved file go?
SAVE requests a browser download and a copy in Library / Media. Check Downloads or your device’s Files app. If automatic downloads are blocked, use Export in Library / Media. Local library entries do not sync between browsers or devices.
My library disappeared. Can it be restored?
Browser site data can be cleared or evicted, and private sessions may not retain it. OPEN an exported backup to restore a program. NDB Software does not receive your library and cannot recover files that existed only in cleared browser storage.
How do I play on a phone?
Use the keyboard under the screen, including ENTER and the game’s letter or arrow controls. The on-screen keyboard remains visible. Portrait gives you a taller screen; landscape may give more room across. Start with Authentic speed.
Why is the screen black?
A black screen and an unlit power indicator are expected after Power off. Choose Power on to cold-start BASIC. If the power light is on but startup never appears, reload after exporting any accessible files and check for a browser error.
Does it work offline?
There is no offline service-worker cache. Loading the app and bundled games requires a network connection. Keeping a page open or adding a shortcut is not a guarantee of offline availability.
OLDER SOFTWARE
A file loads, but the program doesn’t run.
Check that the program targets Model I Level II BASIC or compatible Model I machine code. Programs for other machines, particular disk operating systems, unimplemented firmware entry points, or missing companion files may fail. Data disks made from loose files are not bootable DOS disks.
Keep companion files together where the program expects them. For cassette groups, use the mounted tape and fast-load controls in Library / Media. Include the exact error and the media format in a support report. Read the current compatibility limits.
A USEFUL BUG REPORT
Help us reproduce it.
- Device model and operating system/version.
- Browser name and version.
- Steps to reproduce, including the program or media format and selected speed.
- What you expected, and what actually happened.
- The exact error message, plus a screenshot if useful.
- A small reproducible BASIC example or a file you are comfortable and permitted to share.
Send only the information needed to explain the problem. Support email is handled through the email provider; see Privacy for details.
