One computer. One 48K configuration. No original ROM needed to start.

PROGRAMMING

Make BASIC your own.

Enter numbered lines, LIST your source, RUN it, and use BREAK to stop. Work with loops, strings, arrays, input, and the machine’s block graphics.

INPUT

A keyboard that stays.

Use the built-in keys on phones and tablets, or type with your external keyboard. Portrait touch layouts give the screen more height. Held keys and keyboard game controls share the same input system.

YOUR FILES

Open it. Keep it.

OPEN accepts BASIC, machine-code programs, cassette images, and supported disk formats. SAVE downloads the current BASIC program and attempts to keep a browser-library copy.

YOUR COLLECTION

Library / Media.

Load, export, rename, duplicate, or delete saved library entries. Browse mounted disk files and manage cassette programs. Local browser storage keeps your collection on this device.

THE Arcade

Games you can read.

ACEY DUCEY, ASTRO BLASTER, BLACKJACK, BLOCKDROP, GRIDIRON, GUESS 100, HURKLE, MICRO ADVENTURE, NIM, WORLD HANGMAN are included. LOAD lets you inspect their BASIC; Load & Run gets you playing. All 10 use keyboard controls.

THE CONTROLS

Your preferred glow.

Choose green, amber, or white phosphor; Authentic, Turbo ×4, or Fast ×16 speed. Toggle sound, pause execution, reset, or turn the computer off and back on.

A NOTE FOR VINTAGE SOFTWARE EXPLORERS

Built for the era. Still being put through its paces.

TrashBox-80 uses original replacement BASIC and firmware with a Model I Level II compatibility target, plus Z80 execution and legacy media loaders. It starts without a proprietary system ROM. Machine-language programs and vintage media depend on the firmware services, peripherals, and disk operating system they expect.

Complete historical compatibility has not been established. Cassette data I/O (PRINT #-1 / INPUT #-1), some firmware entry points, and exact memory-layout behavior remain incomplete. A file that opens successfully is not necessarily a game that runs correctly. Proprietary ROMs and imported vintage games are not bundled.
